A find from last year in the Sandbach area by our artefacts officer. This one is a Roman strap fitting, probably a belt stiffener from a military uniform and dates from 200-300AD. It’s unclear how much significance Sandbach had to the Romans but they certainly were in the vicinity as evidenced by the Roman road about a mile to the south of the town centre.
